Hi everyone,

Many thanks to all of you who provided input on the coalition’s draft
Statement of Purpose — and apologies for the delay in updating you on this.
My name is David and I’ve joined CIRA on a part-time contract basis to
support the work of this coalition.

On behalf of the Core Group (auDA, CIRA, InternetNZ, Nominet), I’m pleased
to attach the final version of the Statement, which incorporates, as best
we could, everybody’s suggestions and feedback.

We invite you all to endorse the Statement by completing this short Google
Form <https://forms.gle/Desjg2xBNHsXbn4VA>. If you do not proactively sign
up, your name/organisation won’t be associated with the Statement when it
is released.

Additionally:

   -

We plan to share the Statement publicly prior to the GDC negotiations on
6-7 June, with a cut-off of Friday 24 May for endorsements prior to the
launch. We’ll be in touch closer to the time with suggested communications
messaging for those endorsees who wish to join us in publishing.

   -

We’re putting in place plans for a website where the Statement will be
hosted, and will re-open the Statement for endorsements at that point —
however, a strong ‘turnout’ for the launch will be a key momentum-builder.

   -

There is no pressure or obligation on members of this mailing list to
endorse the Statement. If you prefer not to endorse, you are welcome to
   remain part of this list.

   -

Although we hope the attached is indeed the final, for-publication
version, if there is anything game-breaking in there that is preventing you
from endorsing, please reach out to me directly.

The publication of this Statement will be an important moment for us, and
will help lay the foundation for our work together over the period of
critical decision-making at the United Nations that lies ahead. Thanks
again to all of you for helping to pull it together.

Regards,

David on behalf of auDA, CIRA, InternetNZ & Nominet
