Kindly see email update from the Anti Abuse Working Group about the dates of the upcoming Live Technical Cyber Exercises I mentioned during our EXCO meeting.

The scenarios to be covered are below:

 Cyber Extortion
Phishing Attack
Malware Analysis
 Ransomware Attack
Exploit using Brute Force

The team from the AAWG will be sending proper invitations by the end of the month.

One of the initiatives of the AfTLD is Business Continuity and I believe tabletop exercises can help ccTLDs be more informed and cognizant of certain factors to consider when drawing their business continuity plans, so I will gladly pass on the invite once dates and all logistics are confirmed.

I am sending this email to make you aware that AfricaCERT will invite next week REN Teams to the AfricaCERT Annual technical Cyberdrill organized by AfricaCERT and hosted this year by CERT.MU; tentative May 18-19, 2021.

Scenarios are technical and tabletop exercises.

Description of the Scenarios:

  1.   Cyber Extortion
  2.  Phishing Attack
  3.  Malware Analysis
  4.   Ransomware Attack
  5.  Exploit using Brute Force

I write to ask if it will be possible for Wacren to help extend the invitations. We will provide the invitation message.

Angela, do you believe that  some TLDs at this point could participate in the exercices?

Cedric is AfriNIC interested in participating in the exercises. (I will have another conversation with AfriNIC about building a CSIRT Team at AfriNIC, which we are more than happy to help you )
