SECOND LEVEL DOMAIN AUCTION 




KeNIC will run an online Second Level Domain auction starting November 2022 . The Second Level Domain name space allows registrations of one name part before the DOT KE with no specialisation e.g. name.ke 




The auction platform will have two (2) selling options: – The Buy Now or Bid Option. 

Buy Now Option : In this category, five hundred and fifty nine (559) premium domain names will be sold on the online platform. The domains will be sold on a first come first serve basis. 

Bid Option: In this category, o ne hundred and sixty five (165) premium domain names will be auctioned under the Platinum and Gold category. 

These Second Level domain names are unique and have a premium value. Successful bidders will win a distinct and valuable .KE identity.

Rules and Regulations have been set up to govern the auction and ensure the process is open, fair and transparent. All bidders will get an equal opportunity to get their preferred .KE domain name. There will be no reservation of names during the auction. All winners will be guaranteed ownership of the names they win.
