As we prepare for ICANN 87, i would like to share some updates from the <br>
Secretariat<br>

1. AFTLD Smart Africa Engagement in Bali , Indonesia<br>
<br>
We have been engaging Smart Africa and are planning to have a meeting <br>
during the ICANN Annual General Meeting in Bali Indonesia. The <br>
Secretariat will mobilize EXCOM members that will be present and <br>
available to engage with Smart Africa to attend the meeting. During the <br>
meeting we are looking for an outcome that will provide a Capacity <br>
Development opportunity for members.<br>

2. AFTLD Smart Africa Engagement in Accra Ghana<br>
<br>
  Smart Africa has also requested for AFTLDs support in its high level <br>
engagement during the Africa Internet Governance Forum where their <br>
continental blueprint for Internet Governance will be discussed. During <br>
our last meeting we had requested if there will be any support for AFTLD <br>
EXCOM to attend the meeting in Accra. We are likely to get this feeback <br>
during our engagement in Bali Indonesia. There is a possibility i may <br>
get support to attend the Africa Internet Governance Forum in Accra and <br>
if this is the case, i will be available alongside any other EXCOM <br>
member present to engage Smart Africa.<br>

3. AFTLD Constitution review<br>
<br>
The working group has made significant progress reviewing the <br>
Constitution. The Chair of the committee requested for time to add some <br>
input with respect to recognition of online meetings. The Secretariat <br>
has requested for a meeting with him to finalize the draft zero and <br>
forwad it to the EXCOM for further input. We will share the draft Zero <br>
before the onset of the ICANN meeting.<br>
<br>
4. Development of the Online Repository<br>
<br>
The developement of the online repository has been going on and will be <br>
complete by the time the ICANN meeting commences.<br>
<br>
5. New Membership request<br>
<br>
Djibouti has requested to join AFTLD as a formal member. The Secretariat <br>
has shared the membership form. Once the form is filled an Invoice will <br>
be issued for the membership fee to be paid.<br>
