Dear Colleagues,

Registration is still open for our webinar titled, *"**Be a Kind DNS
Operator, Be KINDNS!”* that will take place on *3rd August 2023* and will
start at *09:00 UTC* on the Zoom Platform. This is the first sesion in a
two-part webinar on DNS, hosted by AFRINIC in collaboration with ICANN.
This workshop is specifically designed to introduce the KINDNS initiative
to operators running DNS services in the African region.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

   - Self-evaluate their DNS operations and security and receive anonymized
   assessment reports and recommendations.
   - Learn from the KINDNS practices to improve their DNS operations and
   security.
   - (Optional but we hope that you will) Join and promote the initiative
   in their place of business for a more secure Internet ecosystem.

The session will be moderated by Mr. Stephen Musa Honlue - Project Manager
and Transformation Lead, AFRINIC. With him on the panel will be;

   1. *Mr. Yazid Akanho-Technical Engagement Senior Specialist, Middle-East
   & Africa, ICANN.*
   2. *Mr. Cedrick Mbeyet-Stakeholder Development Manager, AFRINIC.*

The second part of the series scheduled on the *10th of August 2023 *at*
9:00 UTC*, will delve into DNSSEC validation, and demonstrate how Internet
users can safeguard themselves from potential attacks or attackers. Our
esteemed panelists will present valuable insights and share their
experiences to provide a comprehensive understanding of DNSSEC's importance
in ensuring a safer online environment.

This series is tailored for a wide range of professionals in the African
region, including:

   - Network engineers and system administrators responsible for DNS
   servers.
   - IT Managers and CTOs/CIOs in ISPs and network operators.
   - Researchers and policy-makers involved in DNS services.
   - IT auditors seeking to enhance DNS security and compliance.
